Two degrees in Arts and Law between 1990 and 1999 provided the basis for a comprehensive understanding of legal processes, business, transformation and economics in South Africa. I also completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA) at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, and have played a role in the Women’s Empowerment Programme at GIBS.
Experience:
Over the past 25 years I have evolved into a life coach, small business leader and a reiki master. The doctorate from the university of life bears all the signs of the happy and sad, bad and good that life gracefully offered and I accepted. A huge part of that gift has been the privilege of working with women from all walks of life, and in this journey it’s become very clear that my role is to enable the women I connect with to awaken their potential. I have also realized this in my role as employer and other failed attempts at small business development. In 2004 Being a Woman Development Practitioners was born. It has evolved into a space where through life coaching, basic counseling, facilitated conversation and the practice of reiki those of us that take part in the dance are able to realize our potential of making an impactful difference in the lives of others. I have worked extensively in the non-profit and corporate sectors in diverse fields such as sustainable development, conflict management, women’s empowerment and transformation. I am also the Director and co-owner of a BEE rating agency, Honeycomb BEE Ratings Interests and background: I am passionate about empowerment, transformation and social justice. Through my work in these areas, I have traveled extensively and independently. Countries traveled to include: Brazil, Prague, Mexico, Cuba, Canada, Palestine, Iraq, London, Switzerland, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and India. I was a volunteer in Iraq during the American invasion, and spent many months volunteering in the occupied West Bank territories of Palestine. For many years, I worked in the development sector, on programmes involving the empowerment of woman in rural South Africa. Today, I am a mother, wife and business owner.
“I completely believe that this exciting life I am blessed to live is a result of my firm belief in ‘being the change I want to see in the world’. I am committed to everyday Awakening my Potential, and through Being a Woman I can teach others to make that difference too.”
